CO2-neutral production at Riedenburger Brauhaus

At BrauBeviale 2024, banke GmbH was also able to present Exergon Brew® ECO as an addition to the energy management systems.

Together with Riedenburger Brauhaus, Michael Krieger GmbH & Co KG, we are thus taking an important step towards the future - in the form of an additional project for the new brewhouse with this new energy management system.

Exergon Brew®ECO will take over the C02-neutral supply of thermal energy for the entire brewery without the need to burn energy sources in the brewery in the future.

In addition to the brewhouse, all production facilities such as the flash pasteurizer, bottle washer, KEG filler, CIP systems and building heating will also be supplied.

For maximum energy efficiency, thermal energy is recovered at various temperature levels throughout the brewery and raised to the lowest required temperature level by means of intelligent heat pump switching.
The core of the energy supply is a central hot water tank at 95°C, from which a compressor generates heating steam at approx. 110 - 115°C through vacuum evaporation. This feeds the wort boiling system and other consumers.

In the overall view, an average COP of 10 is achieved at the vapor compressor due to the low temperature differences. This enables an economical provision of thermal energy from green electricity.

In summer, the brewery can cover the majority of its needs independently thanks to its own PV system.
